Is There Peanut Butter In Butterfinger?

is there peanut butter in butterfingers

Question: Is there peanut butter in Butterfinger candy?

Answer: Let’s take a look at the ingredient of a traditional Butterfinger candy to see if it contains peanut butter. The ingredients are as follows:

Corn syrup, sugar, ground roasted peanuts, hydrogenated palm kernel oil, cocoa, molasses, and less than 1% of dairy product solids, confectioner’s corn flakes, nonfat milk, salt, soy lecithin, soybean oil, cornstarch, natural flavors, monoglycerides, tbhq and citric acid (to preserve freshness), annatto color.

The ingredients indicate that a Butterfinger has ground roasted peanuts and not peanut butter. When you look at the definition of peanut butter it states that it is a paste of ground roasted peanuts. If you are familiar with Butterfinger you know that the inside of it is dry and not a paste like peanut butter. Technically, Butterfinger does not contain peanut butter but ground roasted peanuts. They are almost the same thing except peanut butter requires a bit more grinding to form a paste.

We should note that Nestle, the manufacturer of Butterfinger, makes other Butterfinger candy products outside of the traditional bar. One product is Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups which obviously contains peanut butter based on its name. We also checked the ingredients to make sure they weren’t following us. The other Butterfinger product produced by Nestle is Butterfinger Bites which do not contain peanut butter but contain ground roasted peanuts.

Needless to say, you should stay away from all Butterfinger products if you are trying to avoid peanuts. All products contain a variation of peanuts.
